  • I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (TN #2360 expires 5/2028). This means that I have worked for a minimum of two years after receiving my master’s degree gaining experience in the field of marriage of family therapy as well as passed the required board exams to be fully and independently licensed to practice marriage and family therapy in the state of TN.

  • When I’m not therapizing…

I can be found with a cup of coffee and a 16 pound cat (Onyx) in my lap with a vinyl record on in the background (normally Taylor Swift) and a book, walking my future therapy dog (Bucky) on a nature trail, or sitting on a patio chatting with friends. And in the fall, I can be found cheering on the Tennessee Vols.

Therapy with Erin… in her own words:

If you're reading this, you may be feeling overwhelmed. Perhaps a recent conflict has left you feeling shattered, or maybe life, in general, has become unmanageable. Are you exhausted by the symptoms of anxiety or depression, feeling like a shell of the person you used to be? Maybe you’re experiencing sudden panic attacks for the first time and are searching for a therapist in Nashville who can help.

I’m so glad you’ve found your way here, because I can help.

Do any of these thoughts ring true?

  • “I’m not being heard.”

  • “I’m not important.”

  • “I’m too much for people.”

  • "I'm tired of prioritizing everyone else and feeling resentful, sad, or numb."

If these feelings resonate deep in your bones, you’re in the right place. Together, we can find a new way forward.

My Approach: Trauma-Informed Therapy with Connection & Humor

As a trauma-informed therapist, I use a combination of powerful, evidence-based therapy models to help you heal. My primary approaches are:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): A gentle, compassionate way to get to know the different parts of yourself, healing internal conflicts and fostering self-leadership.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A structured therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

  • A Systems-Based Lens: This approach recognizes that we don't exist in a vacuum. We'll look at the bigger picture—exploring how your family dynamics, relationships, and environment influence your well-being. Understanding these connections helps us see why certain patterns exist and how to create healthier ones.

While these models provide the foundation, our sessions are built on genuine human connection. I believe in the power of empathy and humor to create a space where you feel truly seen and understood.

What to Expect on Your Journey

Therapy is a process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. Here’s a typical structure:

  • One 90-minute intake session to compassionately explore your history and goals.

  • 4 to 6 weekly 50-minute sessions to build momentum and establish a strong foundation.

  • Bi-weekly sessions are common for most clients as they progress, often staying for one to two years to integrate deep, lasting change.

While healing is not linear, most of my clients report a significant improvement in their symptoms within the first two months.

The Goal: Feeling Lighter, Kinder & More Connected

After working with me, clients often say they feel safer in their relationships—especially the one they have with themselves. The goal is to quiet the harsh inner critic, replace it with self-compassion, and lift the heavy weight you’ve been carrying. Together, we will help you reconnect to the activities, people, and feelings that light you up.

Bucky, ACGB

“ACGB” stands for a certified good boy! Bucky is Erin’s golden retriever who is finishing up his therapy dog training, and is occasionally in the office with her.

Once he completes his training, he will be in the offices most days, and will be able to offer deep pressure therapy as an additional service to Erin’s clients. Deep pressure therapy is helpful for those experiencing anxiety, panic, or dissociation symptoms. It’s also just nice if you want to cuddle a cute pup!

In his free time, Bucky just wants more pets from his many friends and friends he has yet to meet, to play tug-o-war, fetch, or snooze on the couch!

Why aventurine?

Green aventurine is a lesser known crystal that is named from the Italian word, “a ventura,” translating to “by chance.”

This beautiful green crystal that Erin stumbled upon while looking on Etsy for a gift for a friend. She always enjoyed researching the origins of names and beliefs surrounding different aspects of nature.

She found that many people experience green aventurine as a calming, beautiful, and courage building stone. And much like pain and the subsequent path of healing, she stumbled upon the stone's name and meaning by chance.

At this practice, we do not believe that a crystal or any one object facilitates healing. Human connection is what heals, and we practice evidence-based therapy models grounded in human connections and empathy. We do believe that nature in its many forms is therapeutic, and the aventurine and other stones along with plants and natural light are meant to provide a space that calms negative emotions, boost courage to do the hard work of healing, eases trauma, and promotes perseverance through the deepest of griefs.
